In the ranking of “hidden gem cities” published by a well-known international travel magazine, Hoi An was ranked first in the world, while Da Nang secured second place.

This ranking aims to highlight destinations that have not yet been overdeveloped but offer high experiential value, evaluated based on criteria such as travel costs, climate conditions, and especially “experience density”—the ability to offer a wide range of activities and services within a compact area.
In this context, Hoi An was highly appreciated for its harmonious combination of culture, cuisine, and scenery in an easily walkable setting, allowing visitors to enjoy multiple experiences in a short time. Its ancient town stands out for architecture that blends Eastern and Western influences, moss-covered narrow streets, colorful lanterns, and a picturesque riverside environment, creating a beauty that is both historic and romantic.

Meanwhile, Da Nang stands out for its balance between nature and modernity, featuring long beaches, well-developed infrastructure, a clean environment, and excellent connectivity with nearby destinations.

The fact that both Hoi An and Da Nang lead this ranking not only reaffirms the individual appeal of each destination but also highlights the tourism potential of central Vietnam on the international map. This is considered a positive sign in the context of tourism recovery, helping to strengthen Vietnam’s image as a diverse, experience-rich, and increasingly attractive destination for global travelers.
