This morning we visit the imposing Thien Mu Pagoda, one of Vietnam's most famous monuments.
Then we take a short trip to a lush river valley where seven tombs were built for seven Nguyen emperors. We will visit the tombs of Tu Duc and Khai Dinh.
Lunch at a local restaurant.
Finally, we visit the Imperial Citadel, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1993. It was the residence of the Nguyen Emperors from 1802 to 1945. In 1965, it suffered damage during the Vietnam War, but ongoing restoration efforts are returning it to its former glory.
